One year ago we lost our friend, mentor and partner, Anthony Colavita, to cancer. It seems hardly possible a year has passed - and also like it was a lifetime ago. Tony did not live to see the move to our Melville office (although he did a drive-by to check out his commute). In his honor, we gathered on August 18, 2021 in our new conference center, and dedicated it to his memory. As Bob Dylan played in the background, the partners, attorneys, and staff of LBCC came together to share fond memories of the many wonderful years spent with Tony. He may not have made it to our new office. But he will always be here with us.
This past year, we have seen what scientific advances can be accomplished with sufficient funding. In the United States alone, 605,250 people died from cancer in 2020 and 1.8 million new cases were diagnosed. Cancer has to be stopped. In Tony’s memory, LBCC is donating to the never-ending efforts of our colleague and cancer warrior, Mike Furman of Furman, Kornfeld & Brennan, LLP. We ask our friends and colleagues to do the same in memory of Tony and all of our friends and family who have fought or are fighting this battle for all of us.
