The Architect's Guide to Contract Administration
Friday Oct 14, 2022 - 10:00 - 11:30 AM
Construction administration can be the source of a lot of claims and, sometimes, the source of liability for an architect. However, it is not a part of the project for which you should avoid taking responsibility either. This program will address how to identify potential problems in construction administration so you can effectively discharge your obligation while simultaneously avoiding liability for construction errors, workplace accidents, unnecessary change orders, etc. This program will identify best practices and approaches to effectively administer construction by better understanding your role during construction and striving for effective communication among owner, contractor and architect. It will also address how documenting the nature of your work during construction and communicating effectively will put you in a position to be able to defend yourself if there is a conflict down the road.
