The 2025 conference theme: "Securing New York’s Future: Engineering Solutions for Tomorrow’s Challenges".
Partners Douglas R. Halstrom and Lee J. Sacket were in attendance to represent the firm, where they joined fellow professionals in sharing ideas and making connections, in addition to experiencing new business innovations.
The American Council of Engineering Companies of New York Annual Winter Conference is the premier business event of ACEC New York’s educational and networking calendar. Over 500 engineering professionals, exhibitors, and State Agency representatives, travel to downtown Albany each year to participate in this unique event.
Additionally this year, partner Douglas R. Halstrom was tapped to present an accredited seminar at the conference. On Sunday, February 2nd, attorney Halstrom presented his own course entitled, “Engineering Ethics in New York”. Subject matter covered included NYS governmental entities responsible for addressing ethical complaints, ethical issues faced by engineers; such as practicing without a license, use of one’s seal, and conflicts of interest, plus, related issues through the discussion of case studies, as published by the National Society of Professional Engineers. Attorney Halstrom also addressed how the New York State Office of Professional Discipline handles professional complaints, and engineers’ rights and obligations attendant thereto.
The ACEC NY Winter Conference agenda offers attendees concurrent tracks for CFOs and business managers, as well as up-and-coming engineering professionals, (“Emerging Leaders”), and HR personnel. Their exclusive “Infrastructure Policy Networking Event”, famously features sessions by select legislators, plus other key personnel.
In addition, a myriad of State Agencies are represented annually. Conference attendees are provided access to can’t-miss “Government Agency Monster Panels”, which offer exclusive insights into current projects, anticipated changes, and upcoming capital programs.
