On Friday, August 17, 2018, L’Abbate Balkan partner, William T. McCaffery, will present “Risk Management and Professional Liability Insurance Considerations for Lawyers” at the New York State Bar Association’s continuing legal education seminar, “Summer 2018 Bridging the Gap,” at Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City.
The Bridging the Gap continuing legal education program will be held over the course of two days, August 16th and 17th, and offers 16.0 total CLE credits. Newly admitted attorneys can satisfy all of their annual CLE requirements by attending this program which is ideal for “bridging the gap” between law school and the realities of practicing law in New York State. Experienced attorneys who have an interest in other areas of practice can also attend and benefit from this program by learning practical information from skilled and experienced practitioners.
Mr. McCaffery’s session will address ways to prevent legal malpractice claims in your practice and will discuss issues such as: legal malpractice risks; client and case selection; conflicts of interest; client communications; billing; supervision; use of resources; and insurance issues.
Mr. McCaffery is a member of L’Abbate Balkan’s Attorney Liability Practice Group. He represents attorneys and law firms that have been sued for legal malpractice in cases arising from real estate and personal injury matters to complex business transactions and commercial litigation. L’Abbate Balkan’s Attorney Liability Practice Group has a well-documented track record of excellence in representing attorneys since the time of the Firm’s founding more than 35 years ago.
