Ms. Pelia’s work has been recognized by her peers, having been selected as a New York Metro Area Super Lawyer® Rising Star in the area of Business & Corporate Law in 2025.
Ms. Pelia received her juris doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law in 2015. Since her admission to the Bar, Ms. Pelia has practiced in the areas of commercial litigation, professional liability litigation, general liability, insurance defense litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice.
Ms. Pelia is currently a member of the Design Professionals Group, which focuses on the defense of architects, engineers, construction managers and other design professionals. Ms. Pelia’s extensive experience in this area has involved litigating multi-party construction claims, including personal injury, breach of contract, labor law, and delay claims.
Ms. Pelia’s work has been recognized by her peers, having been selected as a New York Metro Area Super Lawyer® Rising Star in the area of Business & Corporate Law in 2025. Ms. Pelia has demonstrated notable legal experience through both her written and oral contributions regarding complex industry issues. Related to same, Ms. Pelia authored an article entitled, “New York’s Pay-When-Paid Clauses”, in which she analyzed the enforceability and implications of such provisions within the construction context. In addition, Ms. Pelia co-presented a well-received program before a large global engineering firm on the legal pitfalls associated with written communications. This presentation emphasized the importance of exercising discretion when committing statements to writing, highlighting how emails, reports, and other documentation can significantly impact legal exposure for design professionals.
