Mr. Stevens focuses his practice on the representation of design and construction professionals in connection with all types of claims before state and federal courts, alternative dispute resolution bodies and governmental agencies.
Mr. Stevens focuses his practice on the representation of design professionals, construction managers, contractors, and owners in connection with claims for: professional malpractice; construction and design defects; Labor Law violations; environmental pollution; project delays and acceleration; breach of contract; copyright infringement; and outstanding fees. Mr. Stevens additionally assists his clients with the preparation and negotiation of project contracts.
Mr. Stevens endeavors to resolve each claim in the most cost-effective and expeditious manner possible. However, he litigates those claims which are not ripe for early resolution through trial and/or the appellate process.
While Mr. Stevens represents his clients in all types of matters, some of his notable cases concern high exposure claims relative to: the design and construction of bridges, condominiums, high rise buildings, roadways, and stadiums; and the cleanup/remediation of environmental pollutants such as oil.
Mr. Stevens regularly counsels his clients on risk management and presents seminars tailored to their specific practices. He has also authored several articles. Mr. Stevens holds the Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Rating AV® Preeminent, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.
Prior to his association with the Firm, Mr. Stevens practiced in the areas of contract, corporate and personal injury law. He is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Stevens received his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 2000.
